IKMT fines the company Albchrome in Elbasan for storing around 318 tons of hazardous waste
The National Inspectorate of Territorial Protection has imposed an administrative fine and temporary suspension of activity on the company “Albchrome”.
The Regional Directorate of IKMT Elbasan conducted an inspection of this entity with a focus on waste management and treatment. During the inspection, it was found that the entity had stored in the premises where it operates about 318 tons of hazardous waste, originating from the dust collection system.
For this amount of waste considered hazardous, the entity did not have any transfer contract for its disposal, disposal or processing.
In accordance with the law, IKMT has imposed a fine of 4,000,000 lek. In addition, an administrative penalty of suspension of activity until the complete disposal of the waste according to the legislation in force has been imposed.
